The moment you walk in, you're welcomed by the comforting smell of freshly baked bread, sizzling bacon, and a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes you feel like you’ve just stepped into your grandmother’s kitchen.

One of the first things you'll notice is the menu. It’s filled with classic comfort food options, perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Whether you're in the mood for pancakes piled high with butter and syrup, or a plate of fried chicken that rivals what you’d find at a Sunday family gathering, Grandma’s Country Kitchen has something for everyone. The portion sizes are generous, and the prices are reasonable, making it a great spot for families, friends, or even a solo diner looking for a satisfying meal.

The restaurant’s breakfast menu is a standout, featuring all the traditional favorites like scrambled eggs, sausage, crispy bacon, and golden-brown hash browns. Pair that with a steaming cup of coffee, and you’ve got the perfect start to your day.

For lunch, the menu features a variety of sandwiches, wraps, and salads, but the real gem is the "Grandma’s Special" - a mouthwatering meatloaf served with mashed potatoes, green beans, and a slice of warm cornbread. When it comes to dinner, Grandma’s Country Kitchen doesn’t disappoint either. The fried chicken is crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and served with a side of buttery mashed potatoes and rich, savory gravy. If you're in the mood for something a little lighter, try the grilled chicken salad, topped with fresh veggies and a tangy vinaigrette dressing. Every dish is made with love and attention to detail, which is why so many people rave about the quality of the food here.

The ambiance adds to the overall experience. The décor is simple and rustic, with wooden tables, vintage signage, and warm lighting that makes you feel right at home. The staff are friendly and attentive, always making sure your glass is full and your plate is brimming with delicious food. Whether you're a regular or a first-time visitor, you’ll always be treated like family at Grandma’s.

  • Everything about this place is perfect. It’s cozy and everyone is friendly. The food is exactly what you would expect from the name. It’s delicious and comforting. There is a wait but it is absolutely worth it (everything is made to order). We will definitely be returning.

  • Went for the first time today (9/18/25) and had breakfast. I had the Open Face, which was absolutely phenomenal and easily among the best breakfasts I've ever eaten. Our server was amazing, and we enjoyed the atmosphere, which felt welcoming and unpretentious. I've been hearing about this place for years, and regret not having checked it out sooner. I will be back soon, that's for sure! THANK YOU.

  • Good old time locals place. Good breakfast good service. Will eat here again. Had breakfast. * we have being coming back here a few times now. Open face breakfast omelet is great. Liver and onions also very good. . Lots of daily specials on board .

  • Highly enjoyable homestyle diner experience. The only recurring complaint I see in the reviews have to do with speed of service, and I was there when it was slow and this was not an issue. That said, several locals have echoed the reviews so come in with the right mindset that at peak times you may have to wait.

  • Definitely feels like a down-home locals place without the warmth, hospitality, and friendliness of a Huntingdon, WV breakfast spot. It's on the other side of the Monongahela, so it's not in Morgantown proper, but it comes up as one of the better places to find breakfast. Parking is plentiful. Food was quite food. No complaints there. We stopped in while visiting the university and everybody enjoyed their food immensely.

  • This is exactly what my wife and I look for. It's a smaller place just off the beaten path with really good food and service! It looks like it was once a bar or tavern so don't drive past it! We had breakfast meals and they were really good. The service was wonderful. I would definitely recommend this place and will stop again when I am coming through!

  • Best place to get a homestyle breakfast around. Great food and service. Fair prices (especially compared to other similar restaurants in the Morgantown area), and good portions. I usually get the chicken fried steak and eggs, with biscuits.
